Method

How we review

  1. We pay. Every reviewed meal is paid for in full. No comped meals, discounts or invitations.
  2. We stay anonymous. Reviews are published under the pen name Sage Arroyo, and nobody announces a visit.
  3. One visit, dated. A rating reflects a specific visit, and the date is shown. Return visits update the date and the text.
  4. What the stars mean. 5: go out of your way. 4: very good, would happily return. 3: fine, with caveats. 2: disappointing. 1: avoid.
  5. Profiles aren't reviews. Places marked “Not yet reviewed” show facts only, from public sources such as the restaurant's own website and map listings, checked on the date shown.
  6. No money changes the page. There are no ads or sponsorships. If any business relationship with a restaurant ever exists, it will be disclosed on that listing and will not affect the rating.
